i recently spent a long weekend in savannah, ga.  it was a perfect getaway from nyc, where we mostly just shopped, ate, and walked around.  the squares are as charming as everyone says, and the old historic homes are just breathtaking.

our hotel was right on the river, and one of my favorite things to do was watch the barges sail by in the early morning.

here are a few of my favorite shots.

when we were in carmel, we drove down highway 1 and caught golden hour and the sunset in big sur.  i have had the joy of seeing a lot of places is this world, but i am not sure that there are many landscapes that took my breath away like this.  i am not a photographer, but these unfiltered iPhone pictures hopefully convey some of the magic.

the impetus for this trip to croatia was largely to see dubrovnik.  i had heard so much about this magical city, and yes, even though it was crowded and sometimes hot, it was just as magical as people have described.  the cliffs, the red roofs, the winding stone streets, the shining diamond of the ocean…i still see it all in my dreams.  there are very few places that i feel the urge to revisit, but dubrovnik is certainly on that list.

the upside of being incredibly delinquent in posting vacation photos is that you get to relive the memories of sun, sand, and the most impossibly blue and clear water while it is freezing and dark outside.  croatia has been on my list for years, and it exceeded my expectations.

these photos were taken in split and hvar.  although they look similar, each place had its own unique feel.  i would totally recommend trying to go to each for those of you considering a euro trip.

i am delinquent in posting these pictures, but i had the pleasure of spending the july 4th long weekend in cape cod.  it was something out of a classic american novel – beautiful beaches (and freezing ocean water!), fresh fruit, campfires and smores, and fried seafood and lobster rolls.  it was the perfect way to unwind after a busy stretch at work.
