The Nomad has one of the prettiest outdoor dining set ups I have seen. Yes it was cold, but still a wonderful way to catch up with a good friend! Also the fried brussel sprouts were delicious.

We usually splurge on Gramercy Tavern every year for our anniversary, but it was of course closed to indoor dining this year. So, we got it to go and had a wonderful meal at home. I still dream about that ice cream.

I finally made it to one of our neighborhood gems – Rezdora – for a delightful lunch with a friend. It did not disappoint.

I finally got around to making the recipe from this post and the buns turned out great. I also actually took some action shots this time for those of you interested in trying.
{1: dough just mixed; 2: buns shaped; 3: buns after rising; 4: after taking the lid off; 5: cooling on the counter; 6 and 7: finished product}

We had a wonderful time in Maine, and the food certainly did not disappoint. Here is part 1 of some of my favorite meals. The dark ones at the beginning are from a wonderful dinner at Fore Street.

Summer is over, which means I had to go out by revisiting my absolute favorite tomato tart. I know the mustard sounds weird, but it makes the dish. The tart works best with the sweet juicy tomatoes abundant at the markets in August, but honestly, standard grocery store fare works too.

a rainy weekend called for finally trying this recipe for salted chocolate cake. i cut the sugar and let it underbake slightly, and it fulfilled my dreams of french decadence.
