since the berries in nyc are returning to their winter state (i.e. they taste like cardboard), i thought i would switch my baking back to chocolate. i had never made truffles before, and it turned out to be pretty easy, albeit messy. i used this recipe, and coated one batch in cocoa powder and other batch in dark chocolate.

while i was in london, i had afternoon tea with two good friends at sketch. the decor was absolutely incredible – every room was decorated completely differently. and the bathrooms were individual eggs, sitting atop an underground bar. oh, and the food was pretty great too.

i had a lovely dinner at public with two friends last saturday.
the bar was a perfect mix of rustic and refined. i love the candles on the brick wall!
fancy champagne cocktail (actual name).
dark chocolate mousse covered in salted caramel and whipped cream. yup. it was as amazing as it sounds.
the bathrooms have these great little soaps to take as a souvenir. i will definitely be going back soon.
