thank goodness sneakers and millennial pink are still in style. i wore my isabel marant sneakers to the ground, so i replaced them with these sale finds. here’s to hopefully at least another two years with these babies.

in my last post, i neglected to mention what i bought when i went to the sezane store. the gorgeous green silk top is perfect for work or a date night. and the jacket is soft, comfortable, and absolutely stunning. all the work is done by hand. i have never seen this type of quality at this price point.

even the buttons are a lovely enamel. i love this attention to detail.

over the holidays, i finally made it to the sezane store in nolita. for those of you who are not familiar with the brand, sezane is a direct-to-consumer women’s clothing and accessories company started in paris. because there is no middleman, the brand is able to better control quality, production, and price point.
the nyc store is an absolute gem, with serious decor inspiration. if you want even more inspiration, check out sezane founder morgane sezalory’s paris apartment here.

during my trip to paris, i visited the most charming jewelry store called white bird. tucked between the rue saint honore and the tuileries, white bird is a calm respite from the throngs of tourists. the store has the most amazing selection of independent designers, and i came home with this gorgeous necklace of uncut diamonds, enamel, and rose gold, crafted entirely in france.

i have always loved rachel comey’s store on crosby street, but it wasn’t until this summer that i actually purchased anything. i went in on a whim and come out with this gorgeous silk dress, perfect for a beach wedding i was attending. i later went back for the matching shoes, and also found the beautiful draped black top.
i think my little rachel comey collection is coming along quite nicely.

two of my favorite things. it is a special day when i can treat myself to both.
the foxglove came from the farmer’s market. the woman at the stand told me that lore has it that fairies would run through the forest, and the imprints on the leaves were their footprints.

my lingerie drawer has been overtaken by neutrals, so i thought it was time to inject some pink back into it.

i can’t find a link to the blush set, but the hot pink set can be found here.

did anyone else see this article in the new york times about united apparel liquidators? i had been to one of their nashville locations many years ago, but pretty much forgot about it until reading this. they recently opened a new location in my hometown, so i was excited to visit when i went home a few weeks ago.
i admit, i went a little insane there but picked up some really great pieces for a steal. this gorgeous fendi is such a great size, and the patent leather is very eye catching yet durable.
aren’t these beautiful farmer’s market flowers an excellent backdrop? i wish every season was peony season.

i feel like i am always on a quest to find summer sandals that i walk miles in. my two latest contenders are the beautiful pairs below from chloe and k.jacques. so far, the chloes are more comfortable (surprising, because i was worried the knots would cause blisters) but maybe the leather on the others just needs to soften up.

remember these from a few years ago? i ended up returning them because they were half a size too big and just a tad too fancy for my life style. well i apparently still wanted a pair of princess shoes in my life, because i have had my eyes on these valentinos all season. i managed to find them on super clearance before my self-imposed shopping ban, and they make me so so so happy.

my bathroom renovations are finally underway, and with them, a large portion of my budget is now devoted to the materials and labor costs. therefore, my new year’s resolution was to go 3 months without buying any article of clothing/accessory. i know this may not seem like a lot to many readers of this blog, but over the years, shopping has become such a hobby (and habit) that the restraint has required more resolve than i anticipated.
i’m not sure how many readers of this little corner of the internet stop by to see what is new to my closet, so i am going to devote a few posts to some recent acquisitions that you have not yet seen. first up is this a.m.a.z.i.n.g blazer and shoes. i do have a great foundation of basics in my wardrobe, but i found that it was lacking the charm of pieces that are not so versatile but are still so fun that they make you smile.
these items definitely make me smile (especially since they were both over 75% off!).
