January has been a no shopping month for me. As the pandemic is still raging, I also haven’t been on any trips or out to eat. Therefore, I have turned my attentions to cleaning and organizing our home, and our kitchen is first home. Some selective pruning and rearranging later, and these cooking/baking drawers and cabinets are ready to go.

When we were in Maine last fall, I went to the Le Creuset outlet and fell in love with the Marine color. I came home with a few pieces in that color way, along with a lilac grill pan. Is it possible to be in love with cookery?

I used a rare weekend off work to tackle the incredibly complicated Tartine morning bun recipe. While they ended up far from perfect, they tasted pretty delicious.

We rented an adorable cabin for a long weekend upstate, and I really didn’t want to leave when it was over. The house had the cutest decor, and it was a great vacation away from the hustle of the city.

I achieved a reading goal this year that I never thought I would – I read 52 books in 52 weeks. I suppose there is a slight upside to being home all day, and focusing more on books and less on screens.
The below books are from my last batch. I had tried and failed to finish The Luminaries for years, so I thought it was a great book to finish this challenge with.

I finally got around to making the recipe from this post and the buns turned out great. I also actually took some action shots this time for those of you interested in trying.
